The most exceptional poker players of the world, like Phil Ivey, have managed to stun the masses of poker fans across the globe as they show off impressive skills that make playing poker look like something that they can do with one arm tied behind their backs. While poker may not be as easy as many people might think, Ivey has shown that anybody that has the intention, determination and the will to be among the poker elite of our time, can do it if they put their mind to it.

As you probably already know, Phil Ivey is one of the best and most recognized players out there, and for very good reason – as he has battled and beat out many a great poker legend and not had a second thought about it. He was born on Feb. 1st, 1976 in Riverside, CA. Growing up, like many other poker pros, Phil had a great interest in all sorts of card games and tried to be the best in whatever he set his sights to doing. Putting his skills to practice and bettering his poker skills to the point of where he was moving up in the ranks and getting more victories and wins over his opponents almost effortlessly was of the utmost importance if Ivey wanted to claim his spot as a poker legend and really get things going.

Though Phil Ivey is a huge success now with victories that have shot him up into astronomical poker status, everything was not perfect in the beginning when Ivey first started, as almost any poker player can tell you based on their own personal stories of how they made it into a world of poker fame. Since improving his skill level was just a important back then as it is today, Phil knew that in order to take his game to another level, he would have to have to step his game up and in a big way, so that his poker career could be off to a great start.

Although poker was and continues to be a big part of Ivey’s life, he still manages to balance personal life with business. One of his poker nicknames that he is known as is “the Tiger Woods of poker”, which suits him quite well, as he has proven that he is more than excellent at his craft. Phil is known for his serious persona while engaging in a game of poker. He has also made an impressive eight final tables in the World Poker Tour.

Phil Ivey has won five WSOP bracelets and has in at least thirty money finishes. Ivey has banked in more than six million dollars in total earnings. Just as with any other poker great that you can probably think of, there were challenges and difficulties that could have had the potential to put things on hold in Phil’s life, or cause it to go in a completely different direction. However, Phil Ivey stood his ground and would not let anything come in his path or stop him from pursuing his life and poker career that he has worked so hard to build.
